One of my best friends & I were talking last weekend about what a great investment a statement piece makes. You could be wearing a garbage bag but because of that statement piece, nobody even noticed ;-)
I’ve had to reinvest in mine because some crazy person broke into our house and stole necklaces I had collected for years not that long ago :( As you see I am still not over the tragedy, but I digress.
This is one of my favorite necklaces. It gets tons of attention everywhere it goes, and I always feel really great wearing it. This one is a way more pricey than I would have paid for it, but it was my husband’s wedding anniversary gift to me, thank you love!

I really believe statement pieces end up paying off, but there are so many options out there, you can find something in your price range. My friend just bought a fabulous one at Forever 21 for under $15, seriously. Run, don’t walk.
JCPenny, Kohls,Target, Charming Charlie’s are all affordable options. I have yet to visit Sam Moon, will have to report on that later. JCPenny is currently having a 30% sale on jewelry, I saw some fabulous things there!
-Necklace 40.00 Target

This shirt is always fun for me. I love the side wings, we will just call them butterfly wings. My favorite aspect about this shirt is the colors. I notice I tend to like the turquoise, orange & yellow theme ;-) The colors say happy & fresh to me.

UrStyle: First day of school
It’s been some years since I was a student walking the 40 acres, but I do remember comfort is key. I came to UT owning not one pair of flip-flops and one pair of sneakers in 2001. Heels was the name of the game in Dallas, but not here the ivory tower scoffed at me, not walking up & down those hills!
I kept that in mind and the summer heat as I planned for my outfit; I wanted to be feel fresh & flowing.

An Austin find:
This weekend while I was shopping on South Congress, one of my favorite finds was a whole seller for Alternative Apparel who was selling everything for $10.00, no tax. Yes, everything on the table, items that are normally double to triple that online. Personally, I wouldn’t even buy these items full price, but at ten dollars, couldn’t pass them up. The seller was also wearing one of their shirts, smart move! It looked super cute on! Helped make the sale. Here are som items sold there, for again $10.00 a piece. She was in the local artist section, there every Saturday.
*disclaimer, this is not me :)
yoga pants were available in black, heather grey, & grey charcoal
online they sell for $34. 00, estan locos!
also there the longer yoga pant for again, $10.00
Or this causal yet fly shirt with front pockets and a hoodie. The cool thing was she had more colors there than online: purple, gray, brown, & heather gray. I wore a tank under mine & loved how comfy it was.
Happy SoCo shopping!

If you don’t already know I love weddings :D Don’t get it twisted, I didn’t grow up dreaming of my wedding or was the type of girl that talked about a non existent wedding. But once I encountered real love & the concept of what marriage is truly about, I was literally swept off my feet. I had the best time planning my own wedding & cherish that day, it was spectacular. So now I’m married, I should be over it right, nope, I am just in love with weddings as before. I try not to go overboard, I just enjoy helping planning weddings, when invited, ohh & ahhh at the beautiful bride & enjoy planning attendee attire. Thankfully, I have had plenty of weddings to go to these last few years, plenty of ohhh’s & ahhh’s & plenty of dresses to wear! Here is one of my absolute favorite dresses. My favorite part of the dress is the beaded waist detail.
-dress, under $30, Forever 21, bought in Orange County, Irvine Spectrum Center, ‘06
-shoes,under $20, Marinelli, bought at Ross, San Antonio, ‘07
These shoes are also one of my fav’s. I will wear them until they fall apart, literally, I love them that much.
